The Waterford is reducing its carbon footprint as part of the Climate Smart program. In addition to company-wide reductions in greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs), The Waterford also launched these building-specific programs:

• A food composting program
• An expanded recycling program - includes all plastics and milk cartons
• 100% recycled paper products - eliminated virgin paper products
• Lighting fixtures use energy-efficient light bulbs and electronic ballasts
• Purchasing policies eliminate plastic portion cups, pill cups and spoons
